1. Read the picture book “Isabelle May” and discuss the characters.
Identify why the animal characters are speaking and the purpose of the silent characters
2. Explain ‘fable’ – (a story that has a message for the reader that the author wants them to follow; usually animals pretend that they are human and can speak)
3. Ask listeners to identify their best part of the story and draw it, or choose one of the BLM available to retell that part.
